A disposable garment having a front and back region surrounding a crotch region has been patented. The garment comprises a chassis with a topsheet and a backsheet surrounding and an absorbent core. The chassis has a central panel with side edges and a waist edge and an ear panel extending laterally outwardly from each side edge of the central panel in the front and the back region. The ear panel is rendered extensible to form an extensible ear with a higher and a lower end edge, an inner side edge and an outer side edge defined by a substantially straight line connecting an outer end point of the higher end edge and an outer end point of the lower end edge. Seams join each ear panel along the outer side edge to a corresponding portion in the opposite region of the disposable garment to form one waist and two leg openings. The seam is non-parallel to the longitudinal center line.
